A 22-member troupe from the Okinawa Song and Dance Theatre Chura has presented a traditional theatrical performance at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. “Southern Island Mythology”, which marked the opening of Japanese Cultural Month in the city, featured two sessions titled “Chronicles of the southern island” and “Joyful feast on Chura Island”.

Sixty gong troupes from five Asian countries and 24 cities and provinces in Vietnam kicked off the first International Gong Festival in the Central Highland province of Gia Lai on November 12 night. The four-day festival, organised by the provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has attracted thousands of local and foreign visitors.
